Apple VR Headset (Unreleased)
Basic Information
Apple is rumored to be working on a mixed reality headset, which would combine virtual reality and augmented reality. The headset is said to be codenamed "N301" and is expected to be released in 2023. The headset is said to have two 8K displays, a high-resolution camera, and a powerful processor. It is also said to have a battery life of up to two hours.
It is rumored that the device will cost up to $3,000, a steep ask in the world of $400 Meta Quest 2s. That being said, it does seem to bring two extremely clear displays, and may have a multitude of features that'll support this price. It's noted to be able to support 'hundreds' of iPad apps at launch, which hopefully means that it'll have more support and be able to use Apple developer tools to create applications for it.
We're not sure if the headset will be targeted towards a specific demographic, whether that be artists, gamers, general purpose use, or for industry professionals.
It is important to note that these are just rumors and Apple has not yet confirmed any of them. However, the rumors have been circulating for several years and there is a growing belief that Apple is indeed working on a VR headset. We will have to wait and see if the rumors are true when Apple eventually announces the product.
