Overall, Potree was a great software that worked well in VR and laptop. It is a open source WEbGL based renderer hosted on github. The desktop version had a variety of settings to customize the output, change the navigation mode, and adjust the camera angle. The settings sidebar also included some measurement tools that would be helpful for architecture historians studying sites like these. Unfortunately, these settings did not work in VR. However, the VR view was convenient as it was web base and had very intuitive navigation controls (joy sticks to fly and steer, grabbing model two hands to scale, move it around with one had). Note that the VR worked better in native Oculus browser when compared to Mozilla VR.
