Alcove VR Activity
Set-up (10 minutes):
Download AlcoveVR on Oculus, within the Oculus Store here .
On the Oculus Quest, install Alcove.
HAVE READY FOR TOMORROW: (1) your oculus username, and (2) please have access to the oculus app so you can add a friend!
In class (30 mins):
FORM BREAKOUT ROOMS OF 2
In the Oculus App:
Go to Social -- Add friend (on People tab).
Type in your partner's username and add.
Accept Partner's Friend Request.
Getting Started:
Open Alcove.
Within Alcove, watch the short tour to get acquainted (tip: you can change to "sitting mode" within the settings)
Note: Access the "Menu" via the left menu button.
After the Tour, in Breakout Rooms of 2, complete the following activities:
ACTIVITY ONE (15 min)
If you are still in the intro menu, press "Explore"
Open Menu --> Travel
Your friend/partner should show up here. Press Invite. Have other group member accept invite.
Once your partner has joined your space:
Within the menu, go to "Travel"
On the Globe on the table, explore the different options of locations you can "visit". You can also press on the bus, car, or air balloon.
Note: You will not be watching the video together. Jointly decide upon a location to visit, and press play at the same time
After watching the video, return to your alcove with your partner. Discuss the experience briefly.
ACTIVITY TWO (5 min)
Go to Menu --> Interact
Make sure your friend is in the alcove with you. If not, re-invite them.
Scroll down and Choose "Babble Rabbit"
Use the different features to interact with your pet rabbit with your partner!
