03/15/18 - 04/10/18: TODO

1.

My second block of work will consist mostly of reading and Unity work. My course deliverables will be further contributions to a boiled down narrative, outlining the history of VR and its wider applications (see also my first block). I will distill this from the articles and literature that I have assembled and read so far, and the notes that I have taken on these articles.

My second deliverable will be an exploration of Unity and putting together a few simple tutorials for quick comparison with Blender. I will model and create "Hello World" in block letters in Unity and record time commitment as well as outline the steps necessary to form a tutorial.

2.

Previously, I have been mostly working under the 'Literature' heading; looking up literature, organizing the articles, as well as skimming them to extract the main points. The intention is to get further down into these articles and boil them down to their most essential arguments, but also to investigate the following questions:

Who has done AR/VR, what have they tried, under what circumstances and conditions, and on a longer trajectory, why do AR/VR? What has it added/taken away from experiencing the real and digital worlds?

The aim of these questions is to make these articles, spanning such a diverse range of fields, somewhat comparable and useful to outline a general history of AR/VR.

For my second deliverable, I will put my Unity tutorials under 'Manuscript' > 'VR Development Software' > 'Unity 3D'; these will be structured in the same way as I have done for the Blender tutorials that are located under 'Manuscript' > 'VR Modeling Software' > 'Blender'.

The Blender tutorials are still under construction and I will finish these during this block of work.

3.

My multi-week plan is added under my Activity Log.
