Financial Data Analysis Timed Speed-run in Immersed VR
(Individual, ~20 minutes)
Open Immersed in VR and connect to your local desktop. Be on this page within your VR environment.
Make sure hand tracking is working. You should see your keyboard within VR.
Only use controllers to help with screenshotting.
Start a timer.
Tasks:
1) Open https://finviz.com/ in the left window VR screen
2) Open Activity Board in center window VR screen:
3) Keep current page (Melvin's In-Class Activity 2) open on right window screen
4) Capture the following screenshot:
Must satisfy all in screen capture:
Finviz visible on right window
Activity board visible on center window
Melvin's In-Class Activity 2 visible on right window
Must satisfy at least 2:
Immersed menu open to "My room" tab
Left hand palm open with menu toggles
Right hand thumbs up
Keyboard seen within screen capture
Note: You may use controller to help with screen capture. You may also save the screen capture on your phone and upload it onto activity board later (outside of VR environment).
5) Capture at least one other creative arrangement of screens:
6) In Activity Board within VR, type in Activity Board one major insight that you gained from the FinViz infographics (cite a journal or refer to statistics). Include an Observation & Hypothesis. Example:
FinViz in VR Financial Insight:
Describe an Observation:
It looks like Microsoft’s stock prices have recently seen a decrease in -1.4% stock. Based on the journal, “Microsoft earnings: AI hype could take backseat to cloud growth troubles,” there appears to be some concern over whether Microsoft’s perceived leadership in generative AI will last.
Make a Hypothesis:
Companies that invest in AI technologies will outperform their competitors in the long run, as AI becomes increasingly essential for improving efficiency, reducing costs, and creating new business opportunities. The small decrease in MSFT stock is of little concern. Hold or buy more stock.
7) Stop your timer. Record how long it took you to reach this point in the Activity board.
